I Tattoli Chianti Classico D.O.P. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Produced By: I Tattoli Bini Smaghi
in Chianti Classico, Tuscany
Rolando raves: “Why do we need another Tuscan olive oil? Because it tastes authentically Tuscan, evoking flavors from the past that I cherish. It’s the perfect addition to our curated portfolio…and, it’s the dream of an incredible woman! I’ve been drizzling with utmost care over spring salads, avocado toast, beef and tuna carpaccio topped with arugula and Parmigiano shavings, and also over chocolate semifreddo.”
2025 Harvest Notes
The 2025 harvest offers a refined, medium-intensity blend of Leccio del Corno, Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Pendolino olives. On the nose, the lively aroma of misticanza (mixed wild chicories and fresh herbs) entices you immediately. On the palate, this well-balanced oil reveals layers of complex flavor—artichoke, thistle, and green almond. I Tattoli will bring a bold, green brilliance to every dish it graces.
Crafted under the strict regulations of Chianti Classico D.O.P., I Tattoli’s estate-grown extra virgin olive oil comes from olive groves that the Bini Smaghi family has tended since 1428. I Tattoli—the family’s historic estate in the heart of the iconic Chianti Classico region—is where Cristina Bini Smaghi took up and improved a centuries-old tradition, reinvigorating olive oil production with innovation, sustainability, and a fiercely uncompromising commitment to quality.
Every October, Cristina personally oversees the harvest as olives are picked at peak ripeness and pressed within just three hours of harvest in an oxygen-free environment. This preserves the oil’s freshness, integrity, and high levels of polyphenols, which can reach up to an extraordinary 830 mg/kg (it’s a superfood!). The oil undergoes rigorous chemical and sensory analysis and is bottled to order, guaranteeing that only the very best reaches your table.
