An exquisite finishing oil, perfect drizzled on bruschetta, or used together with other PrimoGrano products to celebrate traditional foods of Abruzzo. Create a simple tomato sauce of Pera d’Abruzzo Heirloom Tomatoes and Intosso and serve atop PrimoGrano Spaghettoni—made with a soft summer wheat cultivated in the Abruzzo hills.

Intosso is an elegant, balanced extra virgin olive oil with a striking chartreuse color. Made from the monocultivar Intosso—a nearly extinct varietal from the Abruzzo region, prized for its large fruit and small seed—it is robust and fruity, with complex aromas of olive leaf and raw artichoke culminating in a lively peppery finish.

This harvest, from a small plot of 478 plants in the Pianella region of Abruzzo, was picked by hand in the first week of October and milled within 8 hours of picking through a 2-phase continuous cycle process.

Traditions: Intosso olives were traditionally consumed as a table fruit, stored in terracotta bowls after a long process of salting and care. They continue to feature as a traditional Abruzzi appetizer.
