Since 1624, the Álvarez de Toledo family has produced the world’s finest olive oils on their Perales de Valdueza estate in Extremadura, Spain. Their extra virgin olive oils are made from olives that are carefully grown, pressed, and bottled directly on the family estate, ensuring the freshest possible product.
2025 Harvest Notes
This standout extra virgin olive oil blends the rare Morisca olive with three local cultivars— Hojiblanca, Picual, and Arbequina. Marqués de Valdueza is an elegand and balanced oil. Notes of grass, tomato leaf, and almond fill the mouth, before the oil surprises with a notable yet friendly bitterness rounded out by a tingling pepperiness.
Marqués de Valdueza shines in both traditional Extremeñan dishes and simple preparations that highlight its freshness. Use it in pisto, the classic local vegetable stew of zucchini, peppers, and tomatoes—serve warm with fried eggs and toasted bread, or chilled with flaked tuna and a drizzle of PX Vinegar. It is exceptional in a classic gazpacho, or drizzled over gazpachuelo, the creamy Andalusian soup of fish and potatoes. Its herbal notes pair beautifully with carne a las finas hierbas (beef tenderloin with fresh herbs), seared sea bass with dill, or steamed shellfish. Drizzle over rounds of orange slices topped with dry-cured olives and finished with a few drops of Muscatel & Orange Blossom Honey Vinegar.
