Santidu Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2016 Harvest

Silver Medal, Medium Intensity
NY International Competition 2017

This harmonious oil makes an excellent complement to sweet proteins such as grilled pork chops, sliced Ibérico ham, and hearty steaks of swordfish.

Flavors are beautifully balanced between bitter and spicy with a long, clean finish. First, taste the vegetal green of artichokes and tomato leaves, rounded by a soft nutty taste, accented with spicy notes at the finish. The mouthfeel is rich and luscious, leaving you with a clean palate.

Created in the heart of the Mediterranean, Santidu (Sardinian for “feelings”) is made with olives grown in groves that have been producing olives for centuries in the Marmilla region of Sardegna (Sardinia). This area offers the perfect environment for the olive tree: verdant rolling hills with southern exposure to sun and circulation of fresh air from constant sea breezes.

The olives are harvested adhering to the strict rules of the local custom: local olive varietals (Tonda di Cagliari and Semidana) are picked entirely by hand, and processed within the day. This traditional process is called spibidai in the local dialect.

Region: Sardinia

Olive cultivars: Tonda di Cagliari, Semidana
